Shelby Goodman and Dwaine Brown were planning their dream wedding for February 11th.

The loving Opa-locka couple have their rings picked out, the red bridesmaids dresses ready for the wedding party, and as of this week, had all 120-plus wedding invitations sent out.

The only problem now is they have no place to get married.

Their venue, the Roman Palace Ballroom in Hialeah, is being evicted.

Brown said he spoke to the property manager, who told him bills weren't being paid.

"He said they hadn't paid the bills in thee months. The rent in three months," Brown said.

The Roman Palace continued to accept money from Brown and Goodman, the couple said.

"Today, I was taking my whole paycheck to pay this hall off," said Goodman. "But when we got there, there's nobody there. The man didn't even call -- didn't say nothing."

The couple said they have been unable get in touch with anyone there.

They are now out $3,800. They paid a deposit and continued to make payments until they saw the eviction notice.

"I'm embarrassed," Brown said.

Online records with the state of Florida indicate the business has an active license.

Local 10 made repeated attempts to contact the Roman Palace but messages to its listed number were never returned.

Goodman and Brown said they are not sure if they can get their money back, or where they will hold their wedding ceremony and reception.

Clutching each others' hands, they were able to smile about their strong relationship and vowed not to let a wedding affect their marriage.

Goodman said whether in a backyard or another venue, she will honor her commitment to Brown and to her wedding guests.

"We came a long ways. We fought to get to this point and nothing's going to stop us. February 11th, we're going to get married. They're not going to stop us," Goodman said.
